I just happened to stumble upon this story. I'm the president of the Amherst Farmers' Market where I have been selling vegetables and plants for the past 35 years. I've also been enjoying Henion's great pastries and coffee at daybreak every saturday! Norton Juster and Peter Spencer are close friends of mine. I found it very entertaining and interesting reading about the humorous interplay at the bakery. Thank you for a wonderful story and I can't wait until May when I'm back at the market enjoying the goodies from Henion's. John Spineti I love this story. I stumbled upon it by accident, but I KNOW Dave Henion, at least I think I do from the details in the story. I worked with Dave, and some of his siblings, at Camp Wightman in Connecticut. I'll have to get in touch with Dave and say "Hi". He has a wife and 8 kids........, who'd have thought! Paul Webb Not directly related to the story, but I am the proud owner of a Dutchess Press, as mentioned in the story. Mine is very large and very heavy and will cut about a dozen rolls at a time. This story has the only reference to a Dutchess Press that I have been able to find anywhere on the internet. I would be very interested to know how the author is familiar with a Dutchess Press. Thanks Bob Hood I loved this, especially the stollen. Kathleen hi. I skimmed the story and couldn't find where the henion bakery is. (As a closet editor, I think it should have been noted in the first or second sentence.) I sure would like to go there tho, Can you tell me where it is please? Thanks Lisa HENION BAKERY IS LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN, AMHERST,MA.ONE
